SPM

That's probably the only thing that's keeping me alive now. Do note that it's not because I'm in love with exams or that my mental state has deteriorated. It's merely because I did not work so hard just to miss THE exam that has taken its toll on my mental health. Never in my life have I ever felt so stressed. And to be honest, I've never studied this hard before. Never. Truth is, I was never that hardworking student who finishes every single homework and studies through the night. From what I remembered, I was the kind who fools around all day. The type of student that doesn't give a damn about exams. Besides memorising certain stuff like the schools' vision and mission during primary, I never really studied for any exam. Come to think of it, it's a wonder that I ended my primary studies with rather good grades. I guess miracles do happen. Up til form 3, The one subject that I focused on was geography, cause I sucked in it. And I guess studying does help, since I did improve in Geo and did quite well for PMR.

But seriously, if any martians out there try to kidnap me and stop me from taking SPM, I'd taekwondo/karate/judo chop them to pieces. I might sound crazy, but it's just not worth missing the exam after years of preparation. Fail or not, I don't really care. I just remembered, why am I even talking about this anyway? I hate SPM, because it's annoying and stupid to me. Still, whatever. I don't even know what I'm saying. Screw it.

Anyway, today's the 1st of November. Which means SPM starts in less than 2 weeks. I seriously don't know how I'm gonna pass this time. Someone slap me please.

HURRAH! I'm not chosen for National Service. =D

At times like this..

..I feel like a child who has had so much fun all these while, only to realise later that everything I thought was real, was fake. Or seemed to be so.



  Like a child who had fun at the swings, happily flying through the air without anything to worry about. But the moment those feet touch the ground, reality sinks in. When those eyes look around, there is nothing but emptiness. He was living in his own world all along. He was just a lonely child on the swings in the park.

Wormy

  This week was pretty tiring. Had Science and Maths exhibition thingi to look after, stay backs in school, Lat the Musical *BIG SMILE*, choir and tuition.

  So, I have officially lost my voice for the umpteenth time. I now understand how hard it is to be a teacher, especially in school where you have students who do not pay attention and talk loudly when you teach. I apologise to all my teachers and I promise I'll behave in class from now onwards by talking less and paying more attention. It was so tiring having to repeat the same things again and again and again and AGAIN and AGAIN AND AGAIN! I seriously salute my teachers.

  Spent 2 days in a row talking and playing with earthworms. Yes, EARTHWORMS. Before this, I never dared touch them, let alone hold them between my fingers and put them on my palm. I remember once, when I saw an earthworm on the floor, I shouted to my mum and begged her to get rid of it as I was worried that my dogs would eat it and I'll never ever kiss them again. But, mum refused to help me. She was like "just pick it up and throw it out." I spent about 10 minutes coaxing the worm to get onto the paper I was holding. When it was halfway on the paper, I just lifted the whole thing up with the worm danggling there and threw it out of the gate with an umbrella over my head. I guess I was worried that the worm would bouce back or something. Pfft. But, I actually held and played with the worms for those 2 days! That's definitely something worth cheering about. *smiles*

  Anyway, most people were disgusted by the worms. So, yeah. Watched Lat the Musical with the choir peeps on wednesday night and came home around 12-ish. The musical was wonderful, and I cried several times during the show. It was truly amazing, but I'm not going to describe the whole thing cause 1) I'm lazy and 2) I can't find the right words to put into. My minds's a total mess now with random words flying through my head.

  My throat hurts so bad and I can't finish one whole sentence without stopping in between to cough out my phlegm. Ugh. I feel so miserable. Someone save me please.

Sexy legs.

  Today, we dissected the frogs. This might sound cruel and heartless, but I actually had fun during the whole process. I know, I know, it's cruel and painful. But I just can't help it. I've always wanted to dissect a frog and see the inside of it. I probably sound like some crazy psycho, but it's true. I've been waiting for so long.

  So, we said a little prayer for our frog before dissecting it. The frog was unconscious then. It was kinda heartbreaking, to see them alive and jumping, and dead the next minute. We had to put all of them into this big tub filled with cotton soaked with chloroform. They were still jumping around in the tub, but then stopped after a while. Then we took them out and you should know what comes next. Thank you, dear frogs, for sacrificing your lives to let us learn more. I assure you, your lives will not be wasted. You just brought out the potential doctors among us. Rest in peace, and may the Lord bless your kind souls. And your sexy eight packs and legs.

  Tsunamis and earthquakes. I wonder if 2012 really is the end of the world. It was so scary to watch the houses being swept away by the waters across the fields, the boats crashing into the bridges, and the cars overlapping each other, falling over the edge. My heart goes out to all those in Japan, and everyone else in the world who are affected by the disasters.

  Tomorrow's the first day of our one week break. I can't wait to sleep in late. I seriously need more sleep.

Pray

  The week's finally coming to an end. Tomorrow will be the last day of school, then we all get a week off. Oh, do I love Malaysia's school holidays. Haha.

  There's so much that I would like to blog about, since my whole week was kinda amazing. Unfortunately, I have really bad memory. So I can't remember much. But the one that I remember the most will have to be Saturday. A whole busload of Seafield Choir members went to SMK Melawati (I think) to watch a performance. I thought it was a musical, but it turned out to be theatre. So, yeah. It was really good tho, I actually cried at the end when the guy died. But, I've always been a sucker for sad scenes and stuff, so, yeah.

  TODAY. Gosh. I don't know what to say. We had Mr Bernard from the AFS programme thingi talking to us. And, he brought along 3 German students who have been living in Malaysia since July last year. They can already speak bm and all, and they go to the mamak almost everyday. 2 guys, 1 girl. HOT. I seriously love their sharp features. *Melts* Anyway, they talked to us about the programme and all. It would have been better with a PowerPoint presentation, but Mr Bernard said that he lost his laptop along with the thumbdrive. Sad case. Oh well, at least we got to see some hot germans and enjoy the free air-con (and skip lessons). *smiles*

  Oh, did I mention that I've been asking everyone I know if they know where to get some frogs? No? Well, I did. I was the crazy idiot that went "Hey! Do you know where to buy or get frogs?" whenever I see someone I know. I still couldn't find one, but some of my classmates were kind enough to help us get them. Such wonderful people. Wonder what will I do without them. So, tomorrow we're gonna chop *cough* dissect frogs. We're gonna force them to take a nice long nap and then we'll make frog chop. Just kidding. I feel so bad now. Tomorrow will be my first kill (not including insects, roaches and whatever tiny stuff that can't be seen by the naked eye). I shall start praying now.

Bird Chop

  I understand that exams are important in a way, as it is probably the only way to evaluate ourselves and understand how much is it that we really understand after spending about 6 crazy hours in school each day. But, is it really necessary for us to use papers? I mean, yes, it's called an exam paper, but why? Why not exam sand art? Or exam mudfloor? Oh, how about bloody exam? Since it kinda kills us to squeeze everything we learnt into our brains just for a paper. Might as well write it in our blood. Hah.

  Point is, exam papers are NOT HEALTHY, for the trees, I mean. Just imagine the amount of papers we use each year for examinations. HOW MANY TREES WOULD HAVE DIED?




Let's do some simple calculation:


  There are about 2,500 students in SMK Seafield. Let's say an average of 10 subjects are taken by each student.


  2,500 x 10 = 25,000


  25,000 is just one single sheet of paper. If each subject has 5-6 pages and it is used wisely (printed double page), we will have a minimun of 3 sheets of papers. So,


  3 (# of papers) x 10 (# of subs.) = 30 sheets of papers
  25,000 x 30 = 750,000 sheets of papers.


  750,000 sheets of papers is only for one term. There are four examinations a year for us.

1. Feb/March test aka first term examination
2. Mid-year examination
3. July/Aug/Sep test aka third term examination
4. Year-end examination aka FINALS


  So, if we were to sum it up for the whole year,


  750,000 x 4 = 3,000,000






  Like, WOAH. If a tree produces 15,000 sheets of A4 papers,


  3,000,000 / 15,000 = 200 trees. WOW.


  So on average, our school kills 200 trees each year. According to Wikipedia, there are 14 schools (primary, secondary and international) in Subang Jaya alone. So,

 
  200 x 14 = 2,800 trees.



SCHOOLS IN SUBANG ITSELF KILLS AN AVERAGE OF 2,800 TREES EACH YEAR!!!       O.O



  Just imagine the number of trees our nation kills each year on exam papers only. Imagine the amount of oxygen we lack and the increasing amount of cabon dioxide which leads to global warming.


  Exam papers will lead to the chopping down of trees to produce them. The chopping down of trees will result in:

- sound polution: chainsaws and all those monster machines? DU-UH.

- landslides: no trees to reduce the pressure of rain when it hits the ground. Rain beats on ground hard, surface of ground starts to slide down and there you have it. A big disasterous landslide. YAY. Let's all die together.

- floods: soil lands at the bottom of the river. River becomes shallow. Heavy rain, river overflows. Let's go swimming!

- global warming: we breathe in oxygen and release carbon dioxide. Trees breathe in carbon dioxide but release oxygen. Carbon dioxide increade because we kill trees. Temperature increase, global warming. Time to install an aircon at home. But that will result in the release of CFC atoms, which will make things worse.

- animals become homeless: trees are habitat to the animals. Chop trees = chop houses. One day, there will be no trees for the birds to build their nests on and hunters will hunt them and we can add bird chop to the menus.

Long story short, exam paper makes Earth go BOOM!!!


  There's a whole lot more on the effects of chopping down trees (deforestation). But, it's late. And I want to sleep. So, yeah. See what exam papers can do? If only we can all do our exams in computers or laptops or whatever that replaces paper, less trees will have to die. And you won't have to eat bird chop in the near future.

  Okay, maybe that was a lil' dramatic. So, I had a massive headache this morning. Nothing surprising I guess, since it's been quite common now. I was debating on whether to just ignore the crazy pain and drag myself to school OR just return to the warmth of my dear bed and bury myself along with the pain under my Blankie. In the end, Blankie won. At least now the pain's bearable. Yeah, I think I'll be just fine.

  Now, I know that this is kinda late, since it was aired in 2010. But I just have to share this with whoever's reading my blog. Check out this video on Youtube, So You Think You Can Dance, Alex Wong Hallelujah Seriously, you must watch the video.

  Never have I watched a dance routine that was so beautiful. It really touched my heart, and I actually cried while watching it on tv. The dance was performed last year somewhere in August (I think), and it was in USA. Yet, it was able to make me cry when I was just sitting at home on my couch, watching AXN all the way here in Malaysia. It's THAT beautiful. Beautiful lines, beautiful emotions, beautiful technique, JUST BEAUTIFUL. Even Nigel was speechless, and I think he was crying, or maybe it's just my imagination. I don't really remember what Adam said, but Mia was shaking when she spoke. The whole performance was that powerful.

Amazing job. For those of you who don't know, the dance was choreographed by Sonya Tayeh, the one in the picture above.

  I really think that Alex has the potential to win the competition if he did not withdraw from it due to some injuries. Alex was placed 8th. Oh well, he's still a wonderful dancer. Oh, I just remembered. I think Adam said something like "now I know why the Miami City Ballet didn't want to let you go", something like that.

Little Miss Anya

  Disney will be showing this movie tomorrow at 7.30pm. For those of you who have not watched it yet, you have no idea what you have been missing. It's amazing.

  I remember watching this show eversince I was just a little kid. I love the songs, the characters, everything. It's simply amazing. 

  That's Anastasia when she broke into the abandoned palace. Dancing Bears. Beautiful song. I still have the goosebumps each time I watch that scene. Anya was dancing with the ghosts in the palace. Many people actually died there a long time ago because of Rasputin, the evil soccerer. A few ladies (ghosts) comes to her and transforms her baggy clothes into a beautiful dress, the one in the picture. 

  This is where they had to fight the evil Rasputin. Dimitri got hurt and Anya was so upset. I was young back then, but I still cried because they loved each other.



  This is Dimitri, the guy that Anya's hugging in the picture before this. I used to have a 'thing' for him. Haha. I don't know why. He actually looked kinda hot to me back then. Pfft. But he's really nice. Dimitri used to be a conman, but he changed after that. Watch the movie peeps.

  Pooka! This little creature here was one of the many reasons why I wanted a dog. *smiles*

  Rasputin. Seriously, this guy is creepy. His body keeps falling apart but he doesn't die. Like, his mouth will drop down, but it's still talking. CREEPY.



  And not forgetting Bartok. He's Rasputin's pet. I'd say he's actually kinda adorable but not that adorable. He works for R and that's evil.



  Overall, you guys should really watch this show. It's definitely worth your time. Don't miss it. If you can't catch it on Disney, try to catch it somewhere else because it's THAT amazing.
